02. McKinsey & Co. Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia
2001
$3M budget
22,000sf
Siamak Hariri, Partner-in-Charge

HPA’s second project for McKinsey & Company translates the highly successful organizational concepts of the Toronto office to a two-storey elliptical penthouse in a downtown high-rise. In contrast to the standard corporate office model, open and closed employee workstations are arranged around the perimeter of the building, affording employees with spectacular, sweeping views. A large café and lounge, connected to an outdoor terrace can be used for formal or informal gatherings. The Jakarta office is distinguished by local materials and artwork such as teak flooring and privacy screens, richly coloured weaving and sculptures, set off against a background of neutral colours and finishes.
