This single family home was designed for a couple with a family, envisioning a modern design in a suburban setting. The house is designed meticulously, allowing them to work from home and to display their art collection to its best advantage. Parallel with the street, the house sits on a wide lot with a well-defined front car court and a rear garden court. The highlight of the program is a double-height central hall and living/dining area which link these two exterior spaces and create a separation between the busy family areas and the quieter areas of the house. Classic modernist furniture and a material palette of natural and enduring materials are carried throughout the house including sand cast brick, ledge rock stone, teak and mahogany windows, and copper cladding.
