The Navy Yard neighbourhood was Washington’s earliest industrial district. Since the 1990s, the area has been undergoing significant transformation, stimulated through projects such as the Nationals Park baseball stadium. Located along the south-eastern stretch of one of Washington’s principal arteries, this project is designed to take advantage of views of the Capitol as well as enhance the pedestrian realm through restaurants and retail.
An elevated courtyard on the western side allows daylight to penetrate deep into the core, and maximizes views to the city’s important monuments from as many units as possible. Unique resident amenities, such as stadium-style seating overlooking the neighbouring baseball field, are located on the penthouse level. The building serves as a cornerstone to an emerging entertainment district charged by the excitement of the ball game and supported by the richness of a true mixed-use community.
