The design of the Jakarta office for the international management consulting firm McKinsey & Company translates new office organization concepts—initially developed by HPA for the company’s Toronto headquarters—to a two-storey penthouse. Rethinking standard corporate office planning practices, workstations are arranged around the building perimeter, affording employees spectacular, sweeping urban views. A large café and lounge, connected to an outdoor terrace, serves as a place for formal or informal gatherings. Local materials and artwork complement a neutral interior palette; teak flooring and privacy screens, sculptures, and colourful textiles enrich the day-to-day work environment.
