One Eglinton East, its podium and 65-storey tower enlivened with dramatic diagonals, is a mixed-use development befitting its location at the lively crossroads of Yonge and Eglinton. An important goal of this project is to improve the public realm. The development incorporates residential, retail, and office uses and will connect via pedestrian tunnel to a subway/LRT interchange. A large piazza provides ample exterior space for the retail and restaurant uses on the first two floors. The second storey of the podium features a wide terrace with publicly accessible stairs at the southwest and northeast corners of the site. Vehicular, loading, and service access is located in a laneway off of main streets.

Façade Studies
The building’s façades are designed to create visual interest while mitigating ground-level wind. Triangular forms dominate the design, offering a striking contrast to the surrounding rectilinear architecture.

Toward the top of the 225-metre tower, the façade transitions into smooth, reflective glass, creating the impression that the building dissolves into the sky.
One Eglinton East contributes to neighbourhood vibrancy through its distinctive design, the addition of new residents and amenities, and the retention of employment uses by incorporating 111,750 sq ft of commercial space—offsetting the mid-rise office building it replaces.
