Rankin Family Pavilion

Brock University, St. Catharines, ON

The design of the new entrance for Brock University reinvents the connecting space between two of the school’s flagship buildings. The Arthur Schmon Tower, which houses the James A. Gibson Library, is flanked by the Thistle complex, which contains the Sean O’Sullivan Theatre as well as several lecture halls and communal meeting spaces.

The project activates the existing buildings and interconnected spaces to bring new life to the front steps of the Schmon Tower. HPA’s holistic design provides the University with an open-concept entrance space, creating a dynamic hub for campus activity and collaboration.
